Documentaries

Magic Kumquat Productions LLC is currently in post-production with the documentary film, Young Fires: The Future of Firelighting; the extended trailer for the project was nominated for a 2024 Suncoast EMMY award. The film making team completed Facing the Childcare Crisis: Expanding access in Rural Southwest Georgia in early 2025. Other recent documentary films include A Tortoise Called Pumpkin Spice, about imperiled gopher tortoises, and Devouring Beauties: The Remarkable Pitcherplants. Laura Albritton wrote and director the film Longleaf Forever, which won 2024 Best North America Short at the Wildlife Conservation Film Festival. This documentary film takes viewers into one of the most biologically diverse ecosystems on the planet -- longleaf pine forests.
